What type of Product Marketer
do you need?

Product Marketing has become one of the most important hires for the success of a product organization. Leaders everywhere agree that without a value centric go-to-market (GTM) strategy and launch plan, the best products will not realize success at the scale they were intended to.

These 3 levels of Product Marketers are the most commonly placed roles in our product marketing recruitment practice. Our team has the experience to identify, attract and engage the talent you are interested in meeting and hiring.
Often early in their marketing career, their career trajectory comes from previous roles in other marketing functions (like Content Marketing) and they typically report to a Head of Marketing.

Tasked with creating GTM plans and bringing together product + marketing + sales, their greatest value is creating product launches that are more organized and aligned to corporate objectives.

This Product Marketing Manager is an individual contributor and a generalist of the function.

These candidates are more strategic and often considered a "lead" within the function. Confident and competent to work with outside partners to achieve campaigns that deliver scale. They usually have exposure to international market launches and may even have a couple direct reports in localized markets.

Whether the business is a multi-product company or a large sales-led enterprise, this level of hire is able to run multiple strategies for multiple ICPs in parallel.

This Product Marketing Manager has experience delivering GTM value for complex product businesses.

Product Marketing leaders, whether a Director or VP, are uncommon at many startups and scale-ups; however, some tech companies choose to have a defined PMM leader reporting into a CPO.

This leader has a broader GTM scope, engaging with analysts, large customers, and partners. If at a VP level, this role is considered a peer to the VP Product. They will often work closely with the CEO on product-related value messaging and any speaking events the CEO is invited to.

This leader is typically focused on ensuring a value narrative is applied to any market-facing messaging concerning the product or their customers.
